I graduated from my Pilates teacher training with the Pilates Foundation in December 2010. This followed on from my earlier yoga teacher training with the BWY accredited Inner Yoga Trust in October 2005. In 2014 I completed The Anatomy of Yoga and Pilates course with renowned yoga teacher and anatomist Gary Carter.
I loved my yoga. But I over did it in the early days and ended up with a chronic case of lower back pain, it was Pilates that saved me and allowed me to carry on teaching yoga and then in turn – Pilates. It now feels a natural part of the ageing process to drop my yoga classes and concentrate on my Pilates teaching. Over many years of teaching both yoga and Pilates I have gained a deep understanding of the mechanics of movement, and it’s this aspect of Pilates that keeps me involved and enthusiastic. I never fail to wonder at the miracle of how we work. All I can say is KEEP MOVING! Use it or lose it!
